A peek into what to expect for Canadian Immigration department. The Immigration minister’s views on inventory

Good day ladies and gentlemen, this is IRC news and I am Joy Stephen, an authorized Canadian Immigration practitioner bringing out this release from the Polinsys studios in Cambridge, Ontario. Today is the 27th of January, 2022.

The Canadian Immigration minister met with Prime Asia TV Canada to discuss issues in the Canadian Immigration department. Hon Minister Sean Fraser talked about backlogs, International students and Parents and Grand Parents sponsorship programs.
The minister talked about the backlog by saying that the current backlog of impending applications are enough to exceed the current immigration targets for this year. The 2021 – 2023 Multi-year objectives, Canada is expected to land 411,000 new immigrants this year. The minister indicated that the numbers may change when the new targets are released in February.
The minister also indicated that the pandemic created problems which resulted in landing people who were already in the country. He noted that there was an increase in the number of people who applied to come to Canada and as a result, they currently hold an inventory of two normal years worth of applications. We do not know if this means there will not be any intake in 2022 but the minister indicated that it does not mean IRCC will not consider new applications.
