Good day ladies and gentlemen, this is IRC news and I am Joy Stephen, an authorized Canadian Immigration practitioner bringing out this special edition of Immigration news from Provincial News, Alberta. This news was released by the government on 12/10/2023. I am coming to you from the Polinsys studios in Cambridge, Ontario. Today is the 13/10/2023
Alberta’s government is honouring 31 Albertans born abroad for their efforts to build strong, caring and inclusive communities. In June, Albertans were invited to nominate newcomers they know – youth, women, seniors, entrepreneurs, community builders and others – who have enriched Alberta through volunteer activities, leadership, innovation, business or academic and professional achievements for the Alberta Newcomer Recognition Awards. Albertans answered the call by nominating remarkable individuals who have helped make the province a better place socially, economically and culturally.
“The Alberta Newcomer Recognition Award is not just an honour, it reflects my commitment to making Alberta a better place. It underscores that, as a newcomer, I can make a meaningful impact by dedicating myself to bettering our youths, organizations and communities.” Statement issued by the province said.
