New English Language Skills Test in 2023 in Canada
Good day ladies and gentlemen, this is IRC news, and I am Joy Stephen, an authorized Canadian Immigration practitioner coming out with this Canadian Federal News. Today is the 03/02/2023 and I am coming to you from the Polinsys studios in Cambridge, Ontario.
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada has approved a new test for English skills for economic class immigrants to Canada. The Pearson Test of English (PTE) has been approved and will be accepted later in 2023.
The PTE will join the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) as approved English language skills tests.
The minimum score is a CLB 4, but certain programs require a higher score. Reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities are all tested.
Students generally take an academic version of the language skills test to be approved to study in Canada.
Along with the English language skills tests, the TEF Canada and TCF Canada are the two French language tests.
There will be five language skills tests in 2023 for immigration to Canada.
