The OINP continues its commitment to address labour market needs for skilled trades. In 2022, the OINP issued the highest number nominations to skilled trades workers in its history. Approximately 40% of all nominations were to individuals with work experience or a job offer in a skilled trade occupation, including: 
 
machinists and machining and tooling inspectors 
welders and related machine operators 
telecommunications installation and repair workers 
construction millwrights and industrial mechanics 
telecommunications line and cable workers 
carpenters 
In 2022, the OINP saw a high number of nominations in technology-related occupations. Approximately 25% of all nominations were to individuals citing work experience or a job offer in a high-tech occupation, including: 
 
software engineers and designers 
computer programmers and interactive media developers 
database analysts and data administrators 
computer and information systems managers 
web designers and developers
