Canada Invests $3.2 Billion in Newcomer Integration Services to Fill Labour Shortages
July 23, 2025 — Ottawa — The Honourable Lena Metlege Diab, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, announced over $3.2 billion in funding over three years to more than 520 organizations outside Quebec. This initiative aims to improve newcomer integration, fill labour shortages, and strengthen the Canadian economy.
The funding will support:
Licensing/certification in regulated professions
Job-specific and general language training
Programs for French-speaking newcomers outside Quebec
